Jessie Cave, candidate for Clarendon County School Board, District 8

Jessie's story

Jessie Jonathan Cave is a lifelong resident of Clarendon County who is passionate about serving his community and ensuring every child has access to a quality education. Born to Herman Cave and Lugene V. Scarborough, Jessie was raised in the close-knit community of New Zion, South Carolina, where he learned the values of faith, hard work, integrity, and service to others.

A proud graduate of East Clarendon Middle/High School's Class of 2014, Jessie began preparing for a career in healthcare before receiving his diploma — completing the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program at F.E. DuBose Career Center in Manning, South Carolina, and earning his CNA certification.

Over the past twelve years, Jessie has built an extensive career in healthcare leadership and administration, serving as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Human Resources Director, and Staffing Coordinator, and currently as Director of Medical Records. Along the way, he's developed expertise in leadership, organizational management, communication, compliance, and advocating for individuals and families.

Why I'm running

As an engaged community member, Jessie has consistently attended Clarendon County School Board meetings and participated in discussions about the future of local education. He believes effective leadership begins with listening to parents, educators, students, and community members while making thoughtful, transparent decisions that always put children first.

Jessie is seeking to serve on the Clarendon County School District Board of Trustees for District 8 because he believes our schools can achieve even greater success through collaboration, accountability, and a shared commitment to excellence.

"I don't believe parents should only hear from the school when something is wrong."
